Fallenthorne Fairytale Horror Story Plot

  1.  Starting off at the Church, the Rich Kids, Film Crew and Townies continue to shoot the breeze while they enjoy dinner together just outside and talk about life in the town, outside of it, etc, all while Della seems to drift in and out of consciousness. She's clearly not feeling well but insists that she just needs to rest.

  2. Eventually everyone turns it in to sleep with the Specter Busters Spooktacular Sleeping Bags (IN STORES NOW!) while the Rich Kids drive back to their hotel and their fancy hotel suite. It's a long drive back but it gives them to talk to each other and develop their charactes some more. YAY!

  3. What's not yay worthy though is Della sleep walking across the town until she stops in front of the entrance to the forest, stands there for a way too long time, and then she turns around and goes back to the others while muttering to herself that they shouldn't be here.

  4. Morning comes and everyone's well rested. Dan makes breakfast for everyone and they manage to find a decent-ish shower, while the Rich Kids wake up in their hotel room, enjoy their fancy showers, get dressed and then enjoy a full on breakfast before driving back to the town.

  5. They see off the Townies and hug them goodbye complete with a final warning NOT to go into the forest under ANY circumstances. With this final warning, they leave Fallenthorne behind with their new fortunes.

  6. They have a bit of time before the cleanup crews and construction crews arrive, so they explore the town again in the daylight and it's still creepy af! They find more and more evidence of just how horrible Tawnie's attack on the town really was and the desolation. They soon find themselves in the library and manage to find some remaining books about the history of the town and discover some really creepy information.

  7. Dan and his crew research while Laurence and Evelynne meet with their cleanup crew.

  8. More exploration of the town while their cleaners move through the town securing everything left behind by the people, boxing it, etc, all while the readers are treated with more evidence of what the hell happened. This is some borderline post-apocalyptic horror.

  9. With the towns belongings cleaned up and secured, Laurence plans to place it in a storage warehouse until they can track down the proper owners and return their long forgotten/abandoned belongings to them. For now though, they're prepping for part 2 of their town resurrection plan: Clean up the buildings and tear down and rebuild what you can't!

  10. Meanwhile, Dan and his crew have put off exploring the forest for as long as they possibly can and despite Dan knowing that this is a seriously bad idea, he can't turn away for the sake of the show and their jobs, so he makes them promise that they'll only stay on the trail. Nobody goes anywhere else, nobody runs off, nobody touches anything, they're just going to walk the trail. After Dan and his crew finally manage to gather their will, and Dan makes the first step, they finally begin walking the trail.

  11. The forest is actually really beautiful and the scenery of it is amazing! Despite all the stories and everything they've seen, nothing's happened so far. The forest trail is just so utterly beautiful. What the hell were they afraid of again? Dan is even cracking jokes about it! The only one who's quiet is Della but even she seems to be trying to recover.

  12. Laurence and Evelynne's people continue to explore the town while they get ready and then begin their work while Laurence speaks with Dan's guys in the chairs in their van. Their cameras and equipment are working just fine.

  13. Time Passes. Dan and his crew reach the end of the trail, which the readers will notice is now far longer than it was when Minerva was walking it, and prepare to spend their first day in the forest. It got darker surprisingly quickly but they roll with it. Nothing else has happened after all and they eventually sit down to chill while filming themselves. All is well and good...until one of the cameramen has step aside to go take a quick leak. Dan and the others frantically call out to him and a few of them almost step off the trail but Dan stops them right up until the cameraman stumbles back into view looking like he just got mauled by animal! He was barely gone a minute and that was long enough for something to just up and tear him apart without any of them hearing a thing! He reaches out his remaining arm imploringly and the crew, closely knit as they all were, immediately throw caution to the wind and run to help him. Once they step off the trail however, just before they can reach him, a scythe cuts through the air and through his chest and cuts him open! They stop and scream as his corpse drops to the ground and the assailant is revealed. Blonde Hair. Red Clothes. White Apron. White Gloves. Ruby Slippers. A Little Girl With An Angelic Face And A Satanic Smile: Tawnie Redsummer herself. The Legend is very real.

  14. She admonishes them for daring to step off the trail and even entering their forest in the first place. Were the warnings in the town not enough for them? They just had to challenge the forest? To test fate? To test their God? Della falls to her knees and starts coughing and hacking up blood and bile. This is what she was sensing since they arrived! This is the presence that was looming over the town! This is what was weighing her down! It was all coming from HER! Tawnie confirms this and explains that Della wasn't just a fraud. She had some latent psychic power in her and that was the part of her that was warning Della of her. A pity she won't live long enough to master it. Even more of a pity that she didn't listen to the warnings.

  15. Dan desperately tries to apologize for their actions but Tawnie isn't having it. They had more than enough time to get their act together, heed the warnings and leave. Now they'll pay the price for trespassing under the trees. All of his attempts at negotiation, even being willing to exchange his life for theires, fall on deaf ears as the forest creatures begin revealing themselves. Sooooo Plan B: RUN!

  16. No need to guess what happens next: They get utterly slaughtered. It's sad because we got to know them for so long but that's the nature of the story.

  17. Meanwhile, back at the town, work continues while the camera footage transmitted back to the van utterly glitches out and all of their attempts to call Dan and the others fail. The remaining crewmen call Laurence and they agree to meet to discuss it. They sit down at a cafe back in the city and they explain what's happened. Maybe it's just nerves from the stories but they're worried about The Specter Busters. This has never happened to them. Laurence and Evelynne also try to call them. They also fail so Laurence calls his friends in the town and has them keep an eye out for them or anything weird coming out from the forest but to absolutely stay out of there.

  18. They wait another day. Nothing.

  19. So naturally they go to the police who, while they aren't happy to hear about Fallenthorne again, still do their jobs and send people out to investigate it. Meanwhile, Laurence questions what they mean by again. They learn that they've had search parties out there before. They always came up empty. Everyone has their superstitions about the town too. It's gotten to the point where nobody wants to mess around with it.

  20. As usual, their investigation in the town turns up empty. All anybody knows is that they went into the forest and haven't come back. The Officers report this back.

  21. Time Passes and with still no sign of The Specter Busters and the drones they had fly over the seemingly endless forest coming up blank, they eventually form a massive search party. Laurence and the group are surprised to see them suiting up in S.W.A.T. Gear for it but...this IS Fallenthroen after all. But they wonder if it'll even be enough.

  22. It isn't enough. They die too and the remaining police decide to not mess with it. That damn forest is a death trap. Laurence thinks back to the warnings about the forest having an influencing effect on people.

  23. With no way to investigate the forest, the Specter Busters are unfortunately considered dead, and the show is cancelled but their crew refuse to give up and team up with Laurence and Evelynne. For now? The town is successfully resurrected and the entire width of the forest, at least around the town, is blocked off. Laurence and Evelynne revel in their success in public but in private? They throw themselves into their investigation, discovering more information about the town and its connection to other towns and visitors and its history, etc on top of investigating the occult now and setting up reminders to keep themselves from forgetting.

  24. Time passes and one night, while they're asleep, they dream a little dream. A dream where they're walking through the city which slowly transforms into the Fallenthorne town. Or at least a ruined broken down version of it completely reclaimed by nature and transformed into a twisted forest. They stop in the middle and are met by Tawnie who gives them a very thorough warning not to continue their investigation. To leave it be. To forget about Fallenthorne and the forest and about all of them. Let their memories fade. Just forget all about it, live their live in ignorant peace, and live their peaceful little lives until old age returns them to the weeds anyway. OR? They can continue down this path, make their sad little plans, drive themselves mad with fear and then die like everyone who dares to question them. Her voice turning more demonic as she speaks. She's offering them a way out. All they have to do is take it and turn their backs on everyone. The investigators are already dead anyway. There's no reason for them to throw their lives away too. Laurence and Evelynne paus, take a moment, look at each other, and give their answer to Tawnie.

________________________________________________________________________________

Okay, maybe not in those exact words but...yeah. The point stands that, standing their, in the dreamworld, standing face-to-face with a murderous spirit that is lord knows how old, that is flat out warning to drop their investigation and not to beef with them, and their response is to tell her to go fuck herself and tell Tawnie that they are going to find a way to stop her, her animal friends, and whatever the fuck is wrong with that forest and send all of them straight down to Hell where they belong.

Tawnie just laughs in their faces and tells them to bring it on. She and her friends have killed everyone who messed with their forest for generations. She might not be able to kill them in their dreams but really, what can a couple of modern humans who don't even believe in the supernatural world do to them? They can go ahead and drive themselves to madness and throw their lives away if they wish. Just remember: She gave them a chance to forget.

They wake up and step to the window and look out across the land towards the direction of Fallenthorne. They just declared war on Tawnie. Now they have to figure out a way to back up their words. They continue their investigations until they hear about an alleged werewolf attack on a Summer Camp and reach out to the survivors....
