Guardians RPG: Dullahan The Black Rider

A Headless Fey Creature That Has Adapted To Modern Life By Transforming Itself Into A Motorcycle Rider.
________________________________________________________________
The Dullahan (pronounced DOOL-a-HAN) - also referred to as the Headless Horseman - is a type of spirit originating from Irish folklore. This sinister being appears as a man or a woman riding upon a black horse, but the rider has no head upon their shoulders. Typically, the Dullahan carries its head under its arm; the head appears dead and rotten with a demonic grin spread across its face.
The Dullahan carries a whip made from a human's spine. The wagon it pulls is adorned with funeral objects (e.g., candles in skulls to light the way, the spokes of the wheels are made from thigh bones, the wagon's covering made from a worm-chewed pall or dried human skin). When the Dullahan stops riding, that is where a person is due to die. The Dullahan calls out the person's name, at which point the person immediately perishes. There are also only 3 Dullahans in the entire world.

There is no way to bar the road against a Dullahan—all locks and gates open to them when they approach. They do not appreciate being watched while on their errands, throwing a basin of hallucinogenic blood on those who dare to do so (often a mark that they are among the next to die), or even lashing out the watchers' eyes with their whips. They are frightened of gold, and even a single gold pin can drive a Dullahan away.

True to the myth, the Dullahan is a mysterious pitch black rider that can barely be seen through the shadows, appearing to most beings as a pitch black figure in the vague shape of a man that waves around its own severed head. The Dullahan traverses the world sentencing and beheading sinners and guiding them to the land of the dead for judgment.

While they primarily focus on the sinners and the damned who have escaped hell, they still lash out if they are stared at for too long, so its best to avert your eyes if one is riding past you.

Being spirits, physical damage is almost useless against a Dullahan and for the most part is a delaying tactic. However, they all have one major weakness in that Gold can burn and damage them, forcing them to flee and retreat. Destroying the head of a Dullahan with a Golden Weapon can destroy them and lining your house with gold can bar them from entry to an extent.

But beware. Just because Gold is a weakness for the Dullahan does not mean that you are safe from them. They are still considerably stronger than a human with mystical abilites of their own and they are fiendishly clever.

Contrary to most supernatural beings, Dullahan rarely speak outside of the names of their victims as they only speak once per night.
