The Explosive Luxx Crystal (L-XPL) round is a round that detonates a split second after impact essentially turning all effected mater into a bomb. The Luxx crystal is an alien design that channels the Luxx field and manipulates it to a desired effect dependent on the crystal structure. In this case it releases a small burst of energy that causes matter to rapidly release its potential energy causing and adding to the explosive force.

The VibroTalon (PRO-VT) is a proprietary round created by Hyperion Weapons Laboratories. The purpose of this round is to be completely superior to all other armor piercing rounds. It accomplishes this feat by using a nano-sharp arrow tipped penetrator housed in a micro hyper vibration module. This module vibrates the penetrator at such a high frequency that the nano-sharp edges can cut through all but the very hardest and thickest armors such as that found on large capital star ships.

Hyperion decided that standard propellants would not be sufficient in providing superior velocities over standard rounds so the Hyperion-Opteron R&D firm designed a new system of ignition. This shell casing uses electro-thermal ignition in combination with a new mix of solid propellant.
This system works by sending a high voltage pulse through the rear of the round, this explosively vaporizes the small rod through the center of the round and creates a plasma arc. This plasma ignites the ignition coating around the rod and efficiently burns the main propellant charge. All this helps to give the round a more consistent burn of the powder and increases the accuracy and power of the bullet.
