Paragons: Regalia The Duchess Of Deathtraps

An interesting member of the Paragon-Villains, she is unaffiliated with The White Queen and prefers an older, more classical style of villainy. The kind of villains who put the heroes in elaborate death traps while hatching grand sweeping schemes just for the sport of fighting it out with the heroes. In short, Regalia is more along the lines of Silver Age style comic book villains, as compared to The White Queen's assassins and hero killers.
That's not to say that she isn't dangerous however. Regalia does extensive research on all of the heroes and designs her traps just to be able to capture the heroes. And she has a wealth of imagination and some incredible skills, ranging for how to counter various powers, the heroes weapons, science and she even has magical knowledge that she is constantly brushing up on. Regalia has extensive knowledge of everything from stage magic to Eldritch Lore that she uses to hang with even the big league heroes. Regalia is so intelligent in fact that she has even gone toe-to-toe with Nora North and trapped her simply by being able to design technology to counter her powers despite being outmatched in everything else, either using gravity traps to slow her down or using devices that disrupt her equilibrium to stop her flight or even the occasional magical trap.
Regalia is considered so talented in fact that other villains will hire her before a job, despite how expensive she is, just because they know she can slow down the heroes long enough for them to get away with whatever they're planning.
Having said that, if you CAN get past her tricks and traps, you're probably gonna kick her ass because, while she is a very skilled fighter with quite a few hidden weapons on her, she is still a normal human underneath it all. A fact that has backfired on her more than once. On one infamous example, Miss Bloody Sunday nearly killed her by shattering her bones and throwing her off a roof into a river. Regalia only survived that one because she had injected herself with a serum beforehand that gave her a temporary healing factor. Just in case.

Regalia isn't particularly fond of Miss Bloody Sunday.

Another interesting trait of Reglia's is that she refuses to kill heroes or rig the traps to kill them. Because, aside from her obsessiveness with always leaving her victims a way out, she knows for a fact that, if you kill a cape, any cape, you will be hunted down by the full force of the hero community and taken apart. Likely permanently in a very creative manner. Instead, the way she does things, she's still seen as dangerous, but the worst that will happen is she'll get sent back to jail.

Having said that, yes, Regalia is obsessed with fairness. There HAS to be a way out for her victims. There IS always a way to win. If you're smart enough and you know where to look and can think on your feet, there is always a way to escape.

She also runs a tight ship. Keep your noses clean, stay sober, work together, etc. She does give her henchmen a very nice break room and vacations though. But if you get caught by a hero while on vacation, that's on you, they're not coming to help.

Having said all that, do NOT attempt to break her rules. She is very strict about them. On one occasion, a team of villains who'd hired her for her usual job attempted to murder a hero who was stuck in one of her trap rooms and even attempted to strong arm her not to interfere. Regalia simply nodded to her right hand man and he took out some papers and began listing the names and addresses of all of the villains' family members scaring the hell out of everyone in the room. When it was over, she simply had this to say to them.

Needless to say they never bothered her again.

She still had people watching them and their families for awhile just make sure however.


Anyway, in current times, she is imprisoned in a Super Max Prison For Super Villains and taking it easy while planning out her next escape and next traps.
