Home-invasion movies are driven by a universal fear: Who hasn’t worried about someone breaking into their home with malicious intent? It’s why creaks and bumps scare you when you’re home alone. It’s why wind chimes become instruments of terror when the sun goes down. It’s pretty twisted to think about watching movies that exploit these fears for fun, but there’s something to be said for sharing such an emotional experience with people from across the world. The universal fear of domestic violation transcends language and local custom. It’s the connective power of art in practice, manifested in mutual terror.
This is not that kind of story.
This is an action comedy story.

Taking place two years after the fight at the farm, the family has healed up from their wounds, received plenty of rest at a hospital, and in the case of the kids, got two years of therapy for it. While the adults had rolled with what happened, Derrick and Tina were deeply affected by everything that had happened. Constantly watching their backs, being frightened easily, feeling paranoid, had night terrors, and throwing themselves into intense workout programs not wanting to be so weak and vulnerable ever again. They also practiced with firearms to get used to using them after all that happened at the farm. To top it all off, Derrick could've sworn that...every now and then...there was something watching him at night.
Two years after the nightmarish battle of the farm, the family was enjoying Summer Vacation at their cabin lakehouse as one big family get together and once everybody arrived, they split their time between rigging up traps and mingling together. They doubted that anything would happen but they planned anyway.
Expect The Best, Plan For The Worst, Prepare To Be Surprised. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome
Late at night, while the party was starting to die down, the house was surrounded by a legion of men in animal masks, most of them jackals, but there were a few more animals mixed in there too. They were decently armed, with a number of blades, some crossbows, scythes, bats and even a few guns. In a typical horror scenario, this would be a massacre.
Not in this case though!
The Blackburn Family were several steps ahead of them and not only had night vision cameras strung up but also trip laser and bell on string alarm systems laying around the ground. As sneaky as they were, they didn't see that coming and quickly set off the alarms and the family dropped what they were doing and went for their plan: The kids were ushered into the panic room with the older strongest members of the family to watch the house cameras and outside cameras with Leonardo checking the other cameras to make sure it wasn't just a wild animal while the rest of the family armed themselves. They were given the go ahead by Leo and the electrified shutter doors all slammed down around the house.
It was game time.
The shutters covering the house had the masked killers stumped for awhile. They tried various efforts to break through them but their efforts just lead to them getting electrocuted on contact while the family sat pretty inside with guns aimed right at the various entrance points.
Eventually they managed to break through one of them when one of their members stepped up and used his powers to gradually melt down the shutter door! He stepped up and grabbed the doorknob...and was promptly electrocuted! He screamed like a banshee and fell to the ground smoking. Another stepped in and used his strength to withstand the electricity to open the door and had his head blown off by Leonardo's super powered shotgun blast. 😜
They fell back as Leonardo blew a few more of them away and yelled at them to leave his family the hell alone or suffer the consequences. They tried returning fire but he just ducked back inside, turned his shotgun into two submachine guns and poked back out to return fire alongside his wife and the others. The animal masks were forced to flee for the time being.
With one shutter door down, the family closed the door back up, set up a trip wire and got ready for the next round!
With the night vision afforded by their hidden cameras the family could easily see what the masked men were doing and spy on them to counter their plans and tricks and while the masked men did take care to avoid the bell ropes now they still hadn't realized the laser alarm system was there.
They tried a few more times to get around the house but with the shutters there they were just stuck outside. One of them tried to climb up but slipped on the soap and came tumbling back down right off the roof. Another one of them tried but triggered another trap that dropped a bunch of bricks on his head.
Eventually one of them did manage to get over to the rooftop by climbing up onto a tree and leaping over to the roof and just barely managing to grab onto the chimney. After some struggle he managed to get on top and jumped down. Only...they'd seen him coming the whole time and simply turned on the fireplace.
You can imagine how well this went for him.
With more men down, the masked men called in the truck to come around and simply ram their house and break it down.
Well they accomplished the first one. The truck did pull around, backed up and rushed the house at full throttle only for Leonardo to step out and blow it up with just a few shots aimed at the engine resulting in an explosion that rocked the front lawn!
