The Alien Protagonist Of Her Story, Clementine was gifted with numerous biological gifts that raise her up to a superhuman level!
The first and most commonly demonstrated power is to achieve sustained movement through the air by Gyrokinesis. This allows her to manipulate her gravitational field and fly by simply being immune to the effects of gravity. With this ability she is capable of soaring through the skies within and beyond the atmosphere that humans could not survive. By combining this with her superhuman speed Clementine is able to travel at super fast levels that would naturally exert too much force on the human body.
Superhuman Speed is her biological ability to enlarge her suprachiasmatic nuclei to increase her cicadian rhythm exponentially to allow her to operate at a higher speed allowing her to move faster than the speed of sound. This has some side effects however as she needs to replenish her energies after a prolonged period of utilizing her superhuman speeds by eating a large supply of food.
Superhuman Reflexes is her biological ability to increase the speed of nerve clusters firing, allowing her to react to stimuli faster than a normal human's capacity allows. She combines this with her super speed and flight to be able to zip around and navigate at super speed.
Superhuman Senses is her biological ability to improve the Thalamus Efficiency and compartmentalize Sensory Nerves, allowing her to parse out very specific details with her senses. Superhuman Hearing is a subcategory of these senses and allows her to hear sounds beyond the range of normal human hearing, in volume and pitch, and gives her a greater sensitivity to sound, enabling her to detect small variances. She could potentially hear the rain falling 40 miles away, the footfalls of insects and the smallest change in a heartbeat.
You may have noticed the two different images up above. That's due to her Shapeshifting. The ability to alter and change her physical features. In her case she uses it to disguise herself as and take the appearance of humans to better fit in. She started doing it as an unconscious defense mechanism when her Earth-Parents discovered her and took on the form of a baby who looked like a close enough approximation of her two Earth-Parents and as she grew older her form subconsciously changed to mimic girls around her age. It's possible then that her body contains Mosiac DNA and maintains plasmids in her cells.
While Clementine herself has yet to work out the specifics anyway and generally keeps herself to her usual standard form, her shape shifting basically works like this. On contact her body reads the DNA of the person she touched and her body analyzes the DNA Sample and 'figures out' how the person looks. Next her body then 'tells' each cell to mimic the reference DNA, making it transform to look like that person. Once the shifting is complete her cells regain their 'original' DNA from her bodies memories. It obviously doesn't change entirely of course otherwise she would be stuck in the form of the appearance she took.
In addition, many types of bacteria possess plasmids: Small sections of DNA which are not contained within the nucleus and which can attach themselves to the organisms chromosomal DNA under specific circumstances (Altering its properties to increase the odds of survival against a specific threat.) In fact, Deinococcus Raiodurans is a bacterium which mains multiple plasmid copies of its entire genetic code simultaneously. Thus, it stands to reason she would form plasmid replicas of other peoples' DNA, switching genetic sequences like a jukebox changing records.
Along these lines is Camouflage, her biological ability to alter her color, consciously changing her skin pigmentation to exactly match whatever it is she is surrounded by. Under her transparent outer skin are two cell layers that contain red and yellow pigments (chromatophores). Below the chromatophores are cell layers that reflect blue and white light. Even deeper down is a layer of brown melanin. Levels of external light and heat, and internal chemical reactions cause these cells to expand or contract. Heat sensors and DNA Alternates with enhanced vision would still be able to detect her, however. It would be unlikely that anyone without heat sensor equipment or superhuman vision would see her. Those with mental abilities like telepathy may detect their thoughts, but pinpointing her with their physical eyes would be difficult.
Lung Adaptation is her biological ability to improve her respiratory system to process any gas or liquid for oxygen. Clementine could breathe underwater, or in a room filled with smoke, or other usually poisonous gases. The lungs need at least some exposure to adapt however. Clementine can potentially exhale breathable air, allowing her to act as a respirator for someone else underwater. Additionally she can anarobically respire much more effectively than other life forms, allowing her to survive in space for a time.
Night Vision is her ability to perceive darkness in as though it were light. In biological night vision, molecules of rhodopsin in the rods of the eye undergo a change in shape as light is absorbed by them. Rhodopsin is the chemical that allows night-vision, and is extremely sensitive to light. It can be assumed that Clementine evolved this ability to have a tissue layer called the tapetum lucidum in the back of the eye that reflects light back through the retina, increasing the amount of light available for it to capture. This ability can be used to see at night or in a darkened environment (like a cave) as though it were well-lit. Thus, with this aforementioned animalistic physiology have better night vision through the use of a larger optical aperture, improved retina composition that can detect weaker light over a larger spectral range, more photo efficient optics in the eye, and improved neurological filtering which is more tolerant of noise.
Telescopic Vision
Telescopic Vision is the ability to see far beyond the normal sight range of a human. Allowing her to observe objects over remote distances. Her eyesight automatically focuses for distance, and she can see things that are far away with the same degree of clarity that they would if the objects were very close. This power works similarly to a zoom lens on a camera.
X-Ray Vision is the ability to see through solid objects. Clementine can adjust the depths of her perception to varying degrees. X-Ray vision can be used to see through material of low mass and volume such as articles of clothing, or it can be used to see through denser materials such as concrete buildings or mountains. X-Ray vision does not enhance an individual's perceptual range however, unless supplemented by another vision-based power, such as Telescopic vision. Since X-Ray vision is a form of ionized radiation, she cannot use it to see through items made of lead.
Heat Vision is the ability in which beams of intense radiation are projected from within the eyes. This accelerates molecules on impact and ionizes the air, basically zorching them. While this does drain her energy reserves if she isn't careful she has another method to replenish it.
Arctic Vision is the ability in which lights shine from her eyes and slow the acceleration of molecules causing them slow down while the object itself cools down and excess heat is absorbed from the object into Clementine. This can be used to replenish energy reserves but if she absorbs too much then she has to release it again until she cools back down.
Seismic Burst is her biological ability to generate a localized exothermic reaction of explosive force, with very specific limitations. It is a simple ability in which Clementine creates narrow cones of thermal and concussive force, fueled by chemical energy in their body. The strength of the burst is determined by Clementine but she uses her own chemical energy to fuel the bursts, and just like with super speed and heat vision she needs to replenish her energy reserves if she uses too much.
Acid Generation is her biological ability to secrete a toxic acid as a defense mechanism. This ability is highly destructive, as the acid is meant to deter predators. The acid is secreted from specialized glands in the hands, mouth, or by other means not yet observed.
Speaking Of Glands!
Clementine possesses an extra stomach in which she stores phosphorus, methane and other flammable gasses and liquids accumulated through feeding. A system of valves in the throat keeps these chemicals away from the oxygen. Some of which she stores in a gland at the front of her mouth. When she contacts the muscles in her second stomach she forces a mixture of the chemicals against the valves in her throat to build up pressure. Once the pressure is high enough it would release the valves and the mixture is sprayed out and ignites with contact with the air, receiving a little extra kick from the excess oxygen released by the gland.
Once the chemical mixtures have been expelled however she cannot use it again unless she replenishes them first.
On top of all of this, her body tissue, skin, muscles, bones, etc. are extremely resilient, allowing her to withstand harmful forces on the body such as crushing weights, impacts, pressures, changes in temperature, etc, granting her drastically enhanced levels of strength and stamina, due to how durable her body has become, allowing her to resist tearing muscles and/or breaking her bones.
