First Form: Water Surface Slash (壱いちノ型かた 水みな面も斬ぎり Ichi no kata: Minamo Giri?)[4] - The user generates enough momentum to create a powerful single concentrated slash.
Second Form: Water Wheel (弐にノ型かた 水みず車ぐるま Ni no kata: Mizu Guruma?)[5] - The user leaps and vertically spins forward in the air while releasing a flowing attack in a circular motion.
Second Form: Improved, Lateral Water Wheel (弐にノ型かた・改かい 横よこ水みず車ぐるま Ni no kata kai: Yoko Mizu Guruma?)[6] - An alternate variation of Second Form: Water Wheel created by Tanjiro Kamado that unleashes a horizontal spin instead of a vertical one.
Third Form: Flowing Dance (参さんノ型かた 流りゅう流りゅう舞まい San no kata: Ryūryū Mai?)[7] - The user swings and bends their blade in a winding motion along with their body and dances in a flowing pattern, slicing everything in its path.

Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought (伍ごノ型かた 干かん天てんの慈じ雨う Go no kata: Kanten no Jiu?)[10] - The user changes the grip on their sword and decapitates the opponent in a single flowing strike that causes little to no pain. It is a “sword strike of kindness” used when the enemy willingly surrenders.
Sixth Form: Whirlpool (陸ろくノ型かた ねじれ渦うず Roku no kata: Nejire Uzu?)[11] - The user fiercely twists their upper and lower body, creating a whirlpool of air that cuts anything caught in it. Its effect and efficiently is enhanced underwater, where the user can draw water around their weapon to enhance their slashes.
Twisting Whirlpool: Flowing Water (ねじれ渦うず・流りゅう流りゅう Nejire Uzu - Ryūryū?)[12] - A combination of Third Form: Flowing Dance and Sixth Form: Whirlpool created by Tanjiro Kamado. The user combines the footwork from Flowing Dance and the twisting movements of Whirlpool, resulting in the swordsman to perform an attack around the user and conjure a twisting, swirling, vicious flow of water to redirect projectiles from multiple angles.
Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust (漆しちノ型かた 雫しずく波は紋もん突づき Shichi no kata: Shizuku Hamon Tsuki?)[13] - The user performs a fast and accurate stab, capable of reducing the impact of a moving target.
Drop Ripple Thrust, Curve (雫しずく波は紋もん突づき・曲きょく Shizuku Hamon Tsuki - Kyoku?)[14] - A modified strike that hits from a specific angle corresponding to the sword's structure which nearly nullifies the impact and momentum of a moving object.
Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin (捌はちノ型かた 滝たき壼つぼ Hachi no kata: Takitsubo?)[15] - The user cuts the target vertically in a flowing motion which is most effective when they are falling downward.
Ninth Form: Splashing Water Flow (玖くノ型かた 水すい流りゅう飛沫しぶき Ku no kata: Suiryū Shibuki?)[16] - The user changes their footwork in a way that minimizes the landing time and surface needed when landing, allowing the user to move without limits. Ideal when fighting in a place with no solid foothold.
Tenth Form: Constant Flux (拾じゅうノ型かた 生せい生せい流る転てん Jū no kata: Seisei Ruten?)[17] - The user performs a continuous flowing attack which seemingly takes the form of a water dragon that increases in strength and power with each rotation due to momentum.
Eleventh Form: Dead Calm (拾じゅう壱いちノ型かた 凪なぎ Jū Ichi no kata: Nagi?)[18] - The personal creation of the current Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka. The user ceases all body movements and enters a state of complete tranquility, deflecting, blocking and cutting any incoming attacks with imperceptible speed with his blade. However, its effectiveness is limited as fast and numerous attacks can break through.
First Form: Unknowing Fire (壱いちノ型かた 不知火しらぬい Ichi no kata: Shiranui?)[2] - The user charges towards their opponent at high speed and decapitates them in one slash.
Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun (弐にノ型かた 昇のぼり炎えん天てん Ni no kata: Nobori En Ten?)[3] - The user releases an arching slash attack upwards.
Third Form: Blazing Universe (参さんノ型かた 氣き炎えん万ばん象しょう San no kata: Kien Banshō?)[4] - The user swings their blade downwards in an arc.
Fourth Form: Blooming Flame Undulation (肆しノ型かた 盛せい炎えんのうねり Shi no kata: Sei En no Uneri?)[5] - The user swings their blade in a circular motion that can defend them from all incoming attacks or decapitate multiple enemies at once.
Fifth Form: Flame Tiger (伍ごノ型かた 炎えん虎こ Go no kata: Enko?)[6] - The user unleashes a powerful series of sword slashes that seemingly takes the form of a rampaging tiger engulfed in flames that charges towards the enemy at blinding speeds.
Ninth Form: Rengoku (玖くノ型かた 煉れん獄ごく Ku no kata: Rengoku?)[7] - A devastating dashing slash that the user initiates from a high stance, the technique had enough power to carve a deep impression that burnt the ground where it was unleashed.
Dance (円えん舞ぶ Enbu?, lit. "Waltz")[3] - The user delivers a single high-powered vertical slash.
Dancing Flash (円えん舞ぶ一いっ閃せん Enbu Issen?, lit. "Waltz Flash")[4] - A modified version of Dance developed and utilized only by Tanjiro Kamado. The user infuses the Thunderclap and Flash technique of Thunder Breathing into the high-powered slash of Dance by inhaling huge amounts of oxygen, increasing the pumping of blood through the entire body, focusing it on the legs, and releasing it all to assault the target with a slash. This technique was capable of outspeeding Genya Shinazugawa, Nezuko Kamado, as well as the fleeing Hantengu. This technique is said to be slower than Zenitsu Agatsuma's Thunderclap and Flash.
Clear Blue Sky (碧へき羅らの天てん Heki-ra no Ten?, lit. "Azure Heaven")[5] - The user spins their body vertically to deliver a 360° slash.
Raging Sun (烈れつ日じつ紅こう鏡きょう Retsujitsu Kōkyō?, lit. "Scorching Crimson Mirror")[6] - The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend from incoming attacks.

Beneficent Radiance (輝き輝き恩おん光こう Kiki Onkō?, lit. "Shining Ray Of Grace")[10] - The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy.
Sunflower Thrust (陽よう華か突とつ Yōkatotsu?, lit. "Sunflower Lance")[11][12] - The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade.
Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance (日にち暈うんの龍りゅう・頭かぶり舞まい Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai?, lit. "Solar Halo Dragon Dance")[13] - The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that seemingly takes the form of a flaming sun dragon. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple enemies at once.
Fire Wheel (火か車しゃ Kasha?, lit. "Fire Chariot")[14] - The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion.
Fake Rainbow (幻げん日にち虹こう Gen'nichi Kō?, lit. "Parhelion Rainbow")[15] - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision.[15]
Flame Dance (炎えん舞ぶ Enbu?, lit. "Flame Waltz")[16] - A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after.
Thirteenth Form (拾じゅう参さんノ型かた Jū San no kata?)[17] - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue. This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body thanks to his shape-shifting ability.
Prominence of the Fields (田た畑はたの卓越性たくえつせい Tahata no Takuetsu-Sei?) - A flurry of light slashes delivered at high speed, aimed at the enemy's vulnerable points to weaken them.
Distant Clarity Rosy Mist (遠とおい明快めいかいさばら色いろの霧きり Tōi Meikai-sa Barairo no Kiri?) - The user weaves around the battlefield to dodge attacks and close the distance between them and the enemy.
Blooming Clouds (咲さく雲くも Sakukumo?) - The user unleashes a flurry of stabs aimed at the enemy's vulnerable points to weaken them.
'Ambrosial Warmth, Flowering Sun' (野や蛮ばんな暖あたたかさ開かい花か陽よう Yaban'na Atataka-Sa Kaikayō?) - A merciful and painless cut meant for use on surrendered enemies. By swinging the katana at a specific angle, the user is able to kill an enemy with that single strike because the enemy has ceased any resistance.
Flourishing Sakura (繁栄はんえいするさくら Han'ei Suru Sakura?) - The user performs five diagonal slashes at high speed from different directions and finishes with a forward stab. To a bystander, the visual effect created by this technique resembles a blooming cherry blossom.
Petals in the Vernal Sky - The user delivers a flurry of light uppercuts while rotating their body at intervals to build strength. Once they have built up enough strength, they decapitate the enemy with a concentrated slash as they rotate their body one more time. This technique has a variant in which the user stuns and launches the enemy into the air before starting the uppercuts.
Impermanent Vigor (非ひ永えい続ぞく的てきな活かつ力りょく Hi Eizoku-Tekina Katsuryoku?) - A defensive technique. The user blocks and/or parries incoming attacks using high speed slashes. While this technique is mostly meant for use against projectile attacks, it has two variations for other kinds of attacks:
Impermanent Vigor: Crystalline (非ひ永えい続ぞく的てきな活かつ力りょく・結けっ晶しょう Hi Eizoku-Tekina Katsuryoku: Kesshō?) - A variation used for enemies that attack at close range; for example, another swordsperson.
Impermanent Vigor: Bravery (非ひ永えい続ぞく的てきな活かつ力りょく・勇ゆう気き Hi Eizoku-Tekina Katsuryoku: Yūki?) - A variation in which the user charges at the enemy while blocking and/or parrying. It's not recommended when the user is protecting someone, but it's more effective if the user is alone.
Vehement Grace (激はげしい恵めぐみ Hageshī Megumi?) - The user jumps up high and delivers a vertical 360-degree slash.
'Fleeting Existence' (儚はかない存そん在ざい Hakanai Sonzai?) - Moving at high speed and making use of intricate footwork, the user approaches the enemy at different angles only to back out immediately, creating afterimages to fool the enemy into attacking them. This technique is normally paired with another offensive form that is used after the user manages to create an opening with this one.
Transient Life, Timeless Memories (果は敢かない Hakanai?) - The 'forbidden' technique. Due to its sacrificial nature, many cultivators choose not to teach it and there are only two that know of this form's existence. Being Mei Ichika and her oldest daughter Mei Izumi. The user slices one of their vital veins; most commonly, the wrist of their non-dominant hand. This is done to entice the demon and make them act more irrationally. Using their breaths to reinforce their legs, the user then allows some of the blood to drip onto their blade before starting an onslaught of high speed attacks that consist of all the other forms in this breath performed in a random order until either they or the demon die. Since the time of this breath's creation, only one person who used this technique has managed to survive, but they were left permanently incapacitated from the demon's attack and the extreme blood loss. That person was Mei Izumi, when she went against Muzan, after he had invaded her home, in hopes of somehow beating him. But the technique didn't work and she was turned into a demon, her wrist was restored and her strength returned as well at that moment.
