POWER: ABILITY ABSORPTION
Ability Absorption is the ability to physically take away another evolved human's abilities through tactile contact. This means that the absorber will gain the ability of the willing/unwilling donor permanently, whilst the other loses their ability for the same amount of time.

The ability itself works by severing the connection of the evolved human and their evolved genes through some hostile interception upon contact. At the same time, the user of this ability rewrites their DNA, copying the genes of the person whose connection is now biologically severed; think of it as a hostile takeover in the business world, or one looking through a one sided mirror to see a person checking themselves on the other side, the user on the see through side then jumps through the mirror, steals a shard of the mirror they just broke, and checks themselves like the person on the non see-able side did.
. In any case, the individual's biology will take on the aspects of the new ability instantly, incorporating it into a new mutation of their genetic code.
Users of this ability not only acquire the same level of understanding of the absorbed powers as the original users but they are able to quickly figure out how to control and improve upon their usage and combining them with new powers, demonstrating an accelerated capacity to understand newly acquired powers.
As powerful as an ability as this is however, it comes with some downsides.
Namely, constantly altering and rewriting the genetic code of the body will lead to physical and mental degeneration, causing severe health problems and loss of power control if the user does not spend downtime between absorptions recuperating and taking care of their body.
Though this can be mitigated with proper health, nutrition, checkups and regenerative abilities.
The secondary flaw is power cravings. Another unfortunate side effect is that the user can potentially be driven mad with a near irresistible desire to acquire more and more power via stealing them from others, which circles back to the aforementioned health problems, making the power similar to an addiction or a vampire's blood cravings.
Incredible mental fortitude and discipline is required to resist the power cravings aspect of the power.
Because of this, Power Absorption can be seen as a double edged sword.
You can acquire incredible power but at the potential cost of your health and sanity.
In the end, as amazing as Power Absorption is, Empathic Mimicry could be seen as the superior power, because while the user still needs to care for their health and potential overloading, it lacks the mental issues of Power Absoprtion.
