Vampire! Derrick's Awakening At The Castle

So this all takes place after the disastrous battle at Whitehawk Mansion featuring the surviving Heroes VS Ramona. Round 2.

Spoiler Alert here but it doesn't go well for them either.

Long story short, Derrick is left a broken and bloody mess. Again. And Dolores lost some limbs besides the rest of her other wounds.

Everyone else, those who did survive it, were left badly wounded and hospitalized.

Derrick was taken by Carmella back to the castle and lowered into a blood pit. This healed his wounds and regenerated his body.

When he does wake up, it's too yet another nightmare. His wounds have healed sure but he's naked in a giant pool of blood with no idea of what the hell is going on here. He leaps out of it and he has a brief panic attack as he wonders where the hell Ramona's taken him now.

While trying to find his way out of the castle he runs into Loreto who is carrying fresh clothes for him and there is a fight since Derrick's still freaking out over what's going on and confuses her for Ramona.

Fortunately, Carmella shows up and puts a stop to the fight.

They help him to calm down and Derrick gets dressed while Carmella catches him up on what happened.

As everything sinks in for Derrick he slowly sinks down to the floor as the weight of everything Ramona put them through finally hits him.

Now I gotta admit here, Derrick does go through a period of depression over everything he's lost and all of the death and horror he experienced at Ramona's hands. In particular, the loss of so many dear friends, dying, coming back as a monster and then damn near dying all over again and now he's got a freaking Demon in his head.

He spends time muttering to himself in his room and talking with his demon as he replays what happened to him over and over again in his mind, trying over and over to save his loved ones from the monster, at some points even hallucinating The Brannons, Bryce and others showing up in his room and taunting him over his failure.

This lasts until the spirits of his friends show up and the hallucinations fade away. Derrick spends awhile speaking with them and it's a heartwarming and sweet moment as they reassure Derrick that they don't blame him for what happened and that it wasn't his fault, etc.

Derrick eventually re-emerges from his room, feeling better and more refreshed.

He apologizes again to Loreto and gets to know her better through their interactions and his talks with Carmella.

Once he's feeling better, Darius invites him to the arena to test his mettle and see what he's got to judge his training level.

Derrick starts out slower than he usually is. He might have started to recover but his confidence is still rocky. At least until Darius decides to take a chance and starts hitting all of his berserk buttons repeatedly until Derrick completely snaps and all of his anger and frustration overwhelms him. Again.

He goes completely berserk against Darius who just fends off everything with ease and wounds him at will until Derrick finally gets it out of his system and cools down.

He then gives Derrick a reminder of a lesson he used to know about not letting your rage overwhelm you and instead channeling it properly.

They talk for awhile and then Darius lets him have the rest of the day to rest and gets head on straight.

Because his real training begins tomorrow.

Derrick thanks him for the lesson and recovers in the blood pit and then spends the rest of the time talking with Carmella and Loreto and others while he explores the castle.

Carmella then receives the good news and passes it on to Derrick. According to their sources, there were survivors of the attack. Dolores among them.

Derrick smiles as he feels a huge weight lift off of his shoulders.
