TORMENTUM
THE BEAST
A trio of freaks Derrick's going to have to contend with during The Carnival Arc.
It all starts when, exploring a Funhouse, a trap is sprung and Derrick falls down a trap, sending him tumbling down a very long twisted slide that nearly drops him on a bed of spikes that he only narrowly avoids by grabbing onto the sides of the slide. He slowly lowers himself down to safety and drops down. He tries to figure out where the hell he is now and looks up the slide to see a gated door slamming down so he's obviously not going back up. He tries to call his friends but he can't get any service, so that's out. He tries calling to them but nobody hears him. So that's out. He throws up his hands and decides to take a look around. As far as he can tell, he's stuck in what can only be described as a neon lit polka dot funhouse warehouse with Wonderland Music playing over hidden loudspeakers.
What follows can only be described as the circus equivalent of The Court Of Olws's Labyrinth. They even designed it to not only resemble a twisted version of Whitehawk City, but they even have corpses strung up in random places dressed up to look like people he knows around the city along with randomly placed photos showcasing the many horrified victims who had been trapped and killed in the maze. All while he gets the feeling that there's something following him the entire time he's stumbling through it. Oh and just to spice things up there's a number of death traps laying in wait for him!
After escaping a few sudden death traps with some minor scrapes and bruises and going through a few different loops and hallways of the maze he eventually comes to a very large room....with hundreds of pictures of different ways he'll die covering the walls and corpses sitting up in chairs dressed up like his family members. He slowly backs away and then he ends up running around the Labyrinth desperate to find a way to find the way out. Every time he ends up coming back to the exact same spot, or at least a spot that looks exactly like it. As he's freaking out over this, Languish finally reveals himself and attacks Derrick. To his credit, Derrick does manage to evade him just in time with some minor scrapes and he rolls to his feet and takes him in. Needless to say, he doesn't exactly have anything to say for a tall, raggedly breathing, blood stained, twitching, red skinned lunatic covered in barbed wire. He screams in rage, bites down on the barbed wire in his mouth and he rushes Derrick in a rage swinging his barbed wire nailed bat like a madman!
Derrick spends awhile dodging and running as he tries to figure out just how the hell he's supposed to fight this guy until he manages to land a good kick on him and decides he'll have to be careful about his bat and focus on using his feet. He's a bit taller than Derrick and has longer reach but Derrick is the one with skill and honestly Languish relies on his hearing and smell since he can't see. After some hitting and running, Derrick manages to start wearing him down and that's when Tormentum steps in and kicks Derrick in the face. He knocks Derrick around a bit before he manages to retaliate and then Derrick gets back to his feet and then Languish starts swinging on him, forcing Derrick right back on the defensive. Derrick is eventually able to scramble away and starts to catch his breath as Tormenum tosses Languish back his bat and breaks out his arm swords and boot knives.
Derrick points out just how unfair this really is but neither of them gives a shit so Derrick is forced to deal with the hand he's been dealt.
After a crazy and bloody fight Derrick is eventually able to disarm Languish, take him out and then he is able to bring down Tormentum with a combination of his martial arts skills and finally having a weapon of his own to fight back with. After busting up Tormentum's arms with the bat he slammed him against the wall and demanded to know what the HELL their beef with him was, what this was all about, where the hell he even was and how the fuck to get out of here.
Tormentum spits in his face and Derrick puts his arm against his neck. The most he gets from Tormentum is that this was payback for killing Thaddeus and his family.
Derrick makes the connection but tells him that he didn't kill anybody at the farm and questions whom ever in the hell would even want to avenge a cannibalistic psychopath like him! After some arguing between the two the labyrinth starts rumbling and shaking as one of the walls starts sinking into the floor and a big broad misshapen bruiser steps out of an elevator and puts on a horrific clown mask and steps out to attack him! Derrick steps back and grabs the bat as he takes in the maniac towering over him. Tormentum laughs and spits blood onto the floor as he warns Derrick that the big guy, The Beast, is the bigger brother to the chainsaw lunatics Derrick fought on the farm!
Languish was tall, sure, but The Beast is HUGE! Towering over Derrick at seven feet and weighing in over 400 lbs, he's a far bigger threat and gives Derrick the fight of his life!
Derrick does manage to win, even breaking the bat on the big guy, but he's a mess afterwords. He sits down against a wall to rest for a little while and then gets up and limps away. Eventually another door opens in the labyrinth and he heads towards the sound. He starts scoping it out when a spike ball drops down behind him and he is forced to run into the doorway.
Derrick manages to dive inside just in time as the spike ball rolls in and breaks the doorway. He picks himself up and walks down the doorway...and is soon met by a small army of killers who were waiting inside of the hallway just in case he made it this far.
Derrick just sighs, throws up his hands, whips off his jacket and gets ready to go again...
As Derrick is throwing hands with this small army,another monster hiding within The Labyrinth reveals itself and the lights dim. Tormentum is trying move and wake up his comrades to no avail, when a delicate hand reaches down and snaps Languish's neck and then The Beast is dragged into the darkness briefly before his body is tossed in front of Tormentum drained bone dry. Tormentum is lifted up by his neck and the vampiress reveals herself again. She compliments them on playing their part well, and while she would've liked to see more blood from everyone, she concludes that they did better than she expected in the fight. So she decides to give him a goodbye present before she ends his life and whispers in his ear. We don't hear it but it utterly horrifies him and then she drinks...
Derrick meanwhile manages to fight his way through all of the thugs but he's a mess afterwords and left in even worse shape.
Derrick takes a short rest before continuing down the twisted winding paths covered with increasingly rotting pictures of himself until he ends up in a wide open room designed like a miniature big top tent.
And then he gets literally backstabbed by Mister Hollow.
Derrick proceeds to get ass kicked some more for awhile until he's able to get in a sucker punch after Hollow hesitates when he hears the spiked ball being moved. They tear the hell out of each other while Ramona kills the guys who were left in the hallway, finds Derrick and watches the show.
Let's just she gets....really into the violence.
And that means exactly what you think it means.

Eventually after a bloody battle, Derrick wins and smacks down Hollow. Then, standing there, covered in blood and open wounds, beaten to hell, Derrick again points out that Thaddeus got what he deserved. He spits blood onto Hollow, turns away, takes nine steps and falls to the floor as the darkness takes him.
Ramona steps out of the shadows and applauds them both. Sure, she didn't get exactly the carnage she wanted topside, but this part of the plan went off like clockwork. She jokingly slaps Hollow's face a few times and then explains to him that the carnival has performed to her expectations...more or less. And that Thaddeus can rest easy in Hell knowing they at least tried to get revenge. Even if it was on the wrong person.
She then gives him just enough time to realize what this means and then she kills Hollow and turns Derrick over, mounts him, licks the blood off of his face, cuts open her arm, drinks some of her own blood and then she opens Derrick's mouth, kisses him and spews the blood down his throat and rubs his throat, forcing him to 'drink' her blood to establish a Blood Bond.
If vampire blood is consumed by a human in a small dose (one or two drops), it will heighten the senses, increase strength, make an intense sexual experience, and cause hallucinations. The effects are different with each person; however, if the blood is taken in a large dose, it causes several different effects, such as healing someone who has injuries, even if they are dangerously close to death, and metaphysically and spiritually bond the drinker with the vampire in question. If taken in a large dose when there is no injury on the human, they will have an extremely increased libido.
Men will possibly experience an enhanced erection for a long period of time, heightened strength for several days after consumption and feel terribly unwell. Humans who drink from vampires will begin to have vivid, erotic dreams about the vampire from whom they drank.
Good News: Derrick survives, gets some temporary super strength, heals his wounds and is left feeling flat out amazing!
Bad News: He now has a mind link with the same mass murdering lunatic who's been stalking him all these years.
Derrick eventually wakes up and wonders off, confused as hell as to how he survived and finds his way back to the surface where things are winding down. Derrick immediately runs over and hugs the first friendly face he sees: Dolores.
