SCION VILLAINESS: Karime Ashdown

A budding serial killer who attends Shepard HighSchool as a third year student, she puts on a front of being one of the sweetest girls you'd ever meet, a straight A-student, star athlete, etc. Karime is popular with the rest of the students and presents the image of an All American Sweetheart. But the truth is much darker. Behind the mask is a terrifying killer. Karime has the power to alter the consistency of objects by touch.

Consistency describes the degree to which a semi-fluid or semi-solid material resists deformation by an applied force. This measurement of consistency is called penetration. The relationship of consistency to viscosity is obvious. The property of a fluid or semi-solid substance which causes it to resist flow is called viscosity. Therefore, the application fields of viscometers, dynamic shear rheometers and penetrometers overlap. The deformation behavior of a material depends on the material’s inner structure. This inner structure is characteristic for each material and can be influenced by outside forces as well as the ambient conditions. The inner structure is everything that is dissolved or dispersed in a material which contributes to its inner structure. This can be solvent molecules, more complex polymeric structures, small particles or even gas bubbles. The ambient condition that influences the consistency most is the temperature. For some substances a decrease of 1 °C or °K can cause a consistency increase of 10 %.

A semi-fluid or solid material needs a special stress before it begins to deform elastically or plastically. The point of plastic deformation is called the yield point. Prior to the yield point, the material will deform elastically and will return to its original shape when the applied stress is removed. Once the yield point is passed, some fraction of the deformation will be permanent and non-reversible. Typical semi-fluid and semi-solid samples are butter, grease, ointment and petrolatum. A fluid (liquid) has no such yield point.
The classification of different greases, for example, is defined by the NLGI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) in the USA. They have established consistency numbers or grade numbers, ranging from 000 to 6, corresponding to specified ranges of penetration numbers.

Thus, she is capable of manipulating the viscosity and consistency of a victim by touch. As an example, she could make the fluid of a person's joints thicken, make their blood or cranial fluids thicken, or completely remove the viscosity from their opponents fluids, thus altering them into a superliquid that cannot be contained and shortly LEAVES the opponents' body, increase the consistency of a victim into higher than stone so they can't move at all or completely remove it to the consistency of whipped cream.

The creative applications of her power lead to a series of bizarre and horrific murders around the town at night before they are able to start narrowing down the suspects and begin searching for the killer as suspicion runs through the town. Some of them even start suspecting The Brimseys due to being so new in town, their occasional odd behavior, stemming from the lasting damage from the cult, the security around their house, and the store robbing incident. It only gets worse when Karime steals from Clarice and 'leaves it' at the sight of one of the murders. Simply because Clarice was starting to get suspicious of her.

Honestly, the real challenge of the arc is finding out that IS Karime and getting to her. 'Cause she ain't beating David. At least not in the daytime.
